Last month I had the experience of shooting a beautiful wedding in the Picton area. I had known the couple from years ago in highschool and I was so blessed to be trusted to photograph their special day. This isn't my first wedding to photograph, but my first as the main photography and not a second shooter.
I was so lucky to have one of my old good friends, Gracie Postma (link) assist me in shooting. She's an amazing photographer and great to bounce ideas off of. Some of my favourite photos were taken from this gal. (Also, she drove which was great because I haven't driven in much since school and the 401 is scary).
When we arrived at the bride's home for the "getting ready" photos, we were such warmly welcomed by the party, no bridezilla in sight. But if you know the bride at all that isn't surprising. Champagne, snacks, laughs all good vibes for a beautiful morning.
After we arrived at the Old White Chapel which apparently "...was the first Methodist Church in Prince Edward County and one of the earliest in Upper Canada." according to the website. Which, very cool. Also just an overall stunning and perfect for an intimate wedding. I especially loved all the baby breathe floral decor, so simple and romantic!
The ceremony was sweet and special. The groom asked for me not to take photos during the vows for it was just a personal time for them.
Then came the fun part, family photos. A lot of organizing for big groups, keeping sure no one gets left out. Thankfully the groom took the lead in that, and Gracie was a huge help as well.
The wedding reception was at Picton United. Catering and (I believe) the decorations were done by L'amour Catering Cakes (link) and the food was AMAZING. Always my favourite part of the day. The groom was telling Gracie and me how this was the first time since the building was built alcohol has been allowed in the building.
Overall, it was a blast. If you want to see more photos head over to https://www.lensfulphotos.com/wedding-1/
